Emma Strebel is an artist living and working primarily in Copenhagen and San Francisco. She graduated from New York University in 2015 with a BFA and concentration in Sculpture. She spent the 2015-2016 academic year as a Visual Arts Global Academic Fellow teaching Sculpture and Drawing at NYU in Abu Dhabi. Emma became a member at HEIMA, an artist residency in Iceland, where she lived and worked for five months. Thereafter, Emma became an Artist Guide at 500 Capp Street: David Ireland’s house and taught sculpture and printmaking to high school students at Southern Exposure Gallery and the Urban School of San Francisco while continuing her own art practice. She has shown her work in France, the United Arab Emirates, Iceland and the United States. Emma is obsessed with things that move: shadows, light, water, wind, time.
